Metacognition

Report Out – especially useful after a session of problem solving.  Students report their strategies for solving. A way of fronting the strategies.  Teacher can judicially choose the order groups could report out in.

Exit Slips – 2 kinds.  One with 1 or 2 math questions to solve – works like formative assessment.  Another kind with a self assessment on it. How did you meet the learning intentions of today – content, vocab and social?  This works as a kind of reflection.

Self Assessment – in any form or about one of or all of your learning intentions that you want or works for you.
